WEnlight Student, Emma Ma with the assistance of her teacher Jake Du, was awarded 1st place for her speech on her hero. The hero she spoke about is Tuyouyou a Chinese Pharmaceutical Scientist who received both the Nobel Prize and Lasker Award for her work on artemisinin, a treatment which saved millions afflicted with malaria in the mid 1900s.
Her teacher, Jake Du, is extremely proud of her efforts and encourages others to continue their commitment towards the study of English!
